How not to photograph oneself: in a dark-ish room, facing a mirror, with a flash camera!
I thought I would take a photo of myself in my "Elizabeth" shawl to show you how much too long it is, but the photos are all of a very dark figure standing behind a round ball of light. Um... duh!
I'll call a friend and try again. But suffice it to say that the shawl was way too large to block out on the bed because it's also way too large (long) for me. I think I'm going to rip back a full repeat, do the seed stitch border again, and reblock. This is a learning process, right?
Audiobook I'm listening to: Death of an Expert Witness by P.D. James.
Posted by Shelda at September 16, 2003 10:16 AMRe learning process. I used to feel so discouraged when I designed or knit a problem. Then I heard poet Marie Howe describe that only 10% of her poems make the cut. It makes sense that not everything we do will come out perfectly. And you have a recovery plan, which is great.
Posted by: Betty at September 22, 2003 07:25 AMIt's funny, I have several pictures just like the one you describe...dark shadowy person, round ball of light! I hope you don't have to rip before we are able to see a photo...sounds beautiful.
